The Powell Couple is a doc-style series following Bilal Powell (former NFL New York Jets) and his wife Jessie as they move back to Louisville after Bilal’s retirement and dive into a new chapter: learning the home building and design trade with a local builder. The series tracks three builds, blending the craft of construction with the personalities and decisions that shape each home.

Episode 1 sets the foundation, introducing Bilal and Jessie, their “why,” and the scope of the projects they’re taking on. As creative lead, I shaped the direction of the episode and the tone of the series, directed talent in the studio, and worked alongside our videographer to capture the right moments and visual style. In post, I collaborated with the editor and oversaw the cut to refine pacing, structure, and story clarity, making sure the episode feels elevated, approachable, and worth following through all three builds.
