This Southend Spotlight episode is a Derby Special at Derby City Pizza on Crittenden Dr, a location that’s basically made for Kentucky Derby season thanks to its proximity to Churchill Downs. The focus is the brand-new Derby drink menu that was rolling out at the time, with the Southend Hustlers sampling a lineup of seasonal cocktails and leaning into the fun, festive vibe. I led the production end-to-end: shooting on location, directing both the on-camera talent and our additional videographer to capture reactions, details, and atmosphere, then overseeing post-production to keep the pacing tight and the tone energetic. The final piece feels like a cheers-worthy preview of Derby week.
